  1. Love your commentary on foreign policy. This is a major area of agreement across America, that Libertarians and reasonable Democrat and Republican voters agree on. And I think the big softie spot is on the domestic side, but I bet Libertarian-minded people and Progressives could compromise and agree to work towards de-centralizing the welfare state. Push our charitable inclinations closer to home. Communities can do far better than distant bureaucrats, and by de-centralizing, we have 50 states plus counties and municipalities all experimenting and learning from each other what works and what doesn't. I think we can all work on how to re-think poverty from the ground up, starting on my block and extending outward. Progressives be all over that whole "acting locally" thing. Surprisingly, so would most Libertarians and sincere (the smart ones) Republicans. We could all virtue signal together, taking nothing from anyone, by pitching in. Interesting times we live in.
