  1.  @hangerq5735  Something was definitely fishy about that story. And some of the interviews were clearly performative, with a guy laughing and joking until the cameras start rolling, and turning on the tears like a faucet for the interview. Alex got out over his skies a lot. He didn't as often as some think, because a lot of the rants I saw were when he started out with "If this is what's going on, then..." If you came in on the "then" part, and didn't know it was a hypothetical, or if CNN left out the fact that it was a hypothetical, then you would definitely have a low opinion of his performances. Some people like that performative stuff, like Mark Levin or half the commentators on sports and news channels. But the damages assessed against Alex Jones were political. The lawsuit was political. The system has been weaponized against dissent for a long time, and for the past 10 years, the liberty and common sense voices have been the dissenter, which you probably don't know, given the talking point you threw out there.

  2. When the government money dries up, a LOT of media outlets are just going belly-up. It's small compared to the federal budget, but compared to the entire media landscape, USAID is a behemoth.

  3.  @WF777.  Turns out that the BBC has been on the USAID payroll for quite a while. It can't support itself on what the British government spends on it and the taxpayers spend on it.
