  4. @Fremen Just because progressives don't know any fucking history is no reason to think they're for big government and for liberty. Anything the government does FOR you is something it can do TO you, later. They make the SAME tired arguments kings and queens used to make for their absolute power over us serfs for MILLENNIA! We finally threw off their shackles for a couple centuries and here they are, back again. They're called "bureaucrats," now, but they were called "courtiers" and "nobles" in a previous era. Progressives want all their free stuff and they want to be free. You can't have free stuff and be free at the same time. To be free means to be self-responsible. To have authority over your own life is to be RESPONSIBLE for your own life. But what do progressives want? They want someone else to foot the bill and then, like CHILDREN, complain because people tell them what to do.
