  1. You're so close to seeing it. You're smart enough to be a libertarian with a reverence for the intention and word of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. You just haven't made the final cognitive leap to "It was never any of the federal government's business in the first place." Be progressive on your block. See a need? Start a charity. Chip in the first $1,000, and give it maybe 1/10 of your time. Don't be progressive on the national level. The big stuff's been sorted out. You don't need some fat cat 1,000 miles away calling the shots on everything that goes down on your block.
