War was a lot tougher to push us into, until the establishment took over all narratives through the back door, with Fairness Doctrine, and a small number of major outlets that big money and big government controlled by controlling a handful of people at the top of those major outlets. What really HELPS the establishment is free public education, which indoctrinates our youth, and gets the policies they want from the votes of the indoctrinated. To break out, getting rid of Fairness Doctrine was key. Like Abby Martin's saying, only I distrust her big-government mind set. Big government will NEVER behave itself. Quit kidding yourselves, Progressives, and push for max freedom. Max mobility into media market by competing ideas. People distrust the chaos on the current Internet, but the fact is, nobody's going unchallenged, any more, and Internet forums allow for WAY more nuanced discussions. Jimmy Dore's just one example. But other voices are providing a far superior product to the commercial-tv outlets, trapped into their paradigm. Nobody likes what "the other side" says, and a lot of people want to see those "divisive" voices silenced, depending on what side they're on. But we NEED ALL VOICES, and something closer to the truth will emerge.

  2. The Fairness Doctrine PROPPED UP ESTABLISHMENT MEDIA and establishment messaging. The PRETENSE of objectivity is what we got, which is more insidious and dangerous. That's what got (enough of) us on-board for the Wars in Iraq. One voice. And you're evil or stupid if you don't jump on the establishment-driven narrative. It is MUCH better to have no pretense. Let whoever grind whatever axe, and use REASON and fact-checking to question EVERYbody. You push for a system that would have us uncritically TRUST media, because of "Fairness Doctrine." It's a red herring. It's a false sense of security that the left LOVE, but which free-thinkers DESPISE.
