  2. They didn't have a rationale for being in Syria that they could admit. I think Trump cornered some Deep Staters and asked "What are we doing in Syria?" I bet they told him "To fight ISIS," to which Trump responded with "Well, ISIS is crushed, so, according to you, it's time to get out." They don't HAVE a justification. They just know that anybody who doesn't want to kill people is in Putin's pocket.
