He still thinks that Nanny Government is fine, if you have the right people running it, and I keep trying to get him to understand that he'll never get the super-genius saint he's looking for.

@susanmercurio1060 You are to politics what I am to mathematics: When I don't understand a proof, I look for spelling and grammar errors. Just kidding. But I'm a compulsive tie-straightener and grammar nazi, too, and I've learned that it kind of gets in the way of the conversation.

Jimmy sucks! He didn't interrupt Vivek once! You're supposed to talk over your guests and he just lets them talk! It's horrific, allowing people to hear different opinions! The diversity of thought is a threat to our oligarchy! I mean "democracy."

@jjs5191 The only difference that exists could be eliminated by de-centralizing the power as Russell Brand, another progressive, has proposed. LET them try their socialist schemes of redistribution on the local level, and see how it works. I think we would do more for the underprivileged if charity was 100% voluntary, and people garnered "virtue points" by giving their OWN time and money to helping others, rather than campaigning endlessly to make it a government thing, run by politicians and bureaucrats with other people's money. There's no virtue in that. Just a form with a bunch of checkboxes. Progressives push their programs on the federal level because they can get their wet dreams passed everywhere all at once. But you can't have those programs imposed in one-size-fits-all fashion from the top down. What works for North Dakota doesn't work for Georgia. Conditions and the people are vastly different. But worst of all, you put all the charitable functions of the society in the hands of a few people, and from then on, it's only as good as the people running it, and bad people are like moths to the flame, when all that power's concentrated in one place.

There would be no Israel if we didn't create it in 1948 by force and pump billions of our hard-earned dollars into it every year, since then. I don't blame Israel for what it's doing to survive. I don't blame Ukraine for its actions. But I do hold the usa to account for creating these insoluble conflicts and keeping them going as long as possible. That's British/Roman Empire bull$hit, and the usa was specifically conceived and constructed to NOT behave that way. The American people don't believe in that crap, either, which is why the Propaganda Machine always spins the truth to make it seem like we're the good guys, when we are not.
