  1. If you're serious about balancing the budget at any point, this is what needs to happen. We also need to do the same thing with entitlements, somehow, which Jimmy will hate and will be generally unpopular. Anyway, lots of people are terrified to see the dismantling of an empire that dared not call itself such, and return to just being a strong, free, self-sufficient nation that nobody better mess with. A nation that wants trade, but doesn't need it, if that makes sense.
