While I can see the harm that (basically evil) NGOs can cause, outlawing NGOs could be used as a tool to crush political speech by little guys, who band together to make a voice big enough to compete with the corporations and the billionaires. I don't like the idea of a billionaire-led charity weighing in on politics, but I very much like the idea of hundreds or thousands of people chipping in a few bucks each to promote a cause they all believe in. It's the big money and the dark money that distorts the public square, and tries to make everyone do the one thing that makes them the richest at everyone else's expense.
