  2. For collaboration to really work, the collaborators have to each BRING SOMETHING. That means a lot of grinding ON YOUR OWN, before what you bring is WORTHY of a collaboration. Otherwise, "collaboration" is a euphemism for mediocre people sponging off whatever talent got tricked into the collaboration. See it in education, where "collaborative learning" is quite the buzzword. It's a way to make mediocre seem excellent and destroy individual excellence.
