It's mostly cultural, not racial. This was seen in families of blacks serving in Europe in the armed forces. The children of black officers, immersed in the military culture embedded in Germany, scored just as high on IQ tests and performed just as well in school. They weren't treated any differently than anybody else, and they did just as well as everybody else. There IS a genetic component, but it's relatively minor, and more of a coin toss. Bright kids with stupid parents. Stupid kids with bright parents. We almost ALL have the mental wherewithal as human beings to be very successful and very intelligent. It just needs to be nurtured in youth. Fact: There's more variation within a given race than there is between races.

@emultra759 So you're saying that Danish and Somali cultures are identical, and the only difference is genetics? Spoken like a eugenicist.

@FixedFace I think a lot more thought went into my comment than your one-liner, which DOES have the earmarks of a 'bot. Maybe you're not very bright, so you latch onto race to make you feel better than someone else, ANYone else. You sound a little desperate.

@jjeanniton It's A measure. Psychology is a science. It's a very mushy science, but still a science.

@oraz. the counterexample's number of citations doesn't refute its truth. There is a genetic component. But nurture determines if the genetic potential is realized, and the genetic potential is generally pretty high, unless there's some medical issue during gestation.
