  1. 9/11 ushered in the surveillance and brazen censorship state. Meanwhile, the Internet made it a lot harder to hide their shenanigans, because it was no longer a matter of getting the Party Line pushed on legacy media (who've been in the bag since WW II, at least) and being done with it. Now there are critical voices with viewerships surpassing the viewership and readership of legacy media. There are still a lot of people who just watch the boob tube in the traditional way. These people still believe Donald Trump works for Putin, mRNA vaccines are safe and effective, and that anyone who criticizes the establishment is a right-wing radical white supremacist. This caricature world view still persists on dying legacy media and the U.S. Government still behaves as though legacy media represent the will of the people, which they do NOT. I think the old ways of manufacturing consent are being used to the fullest extent possible, but legacy means are waning. Too many people at home and around the world see through what's being done for the benefit of a very small group of people who consider themselves elite, but the only thing elite is their bank accounts. And 90% of the rest of the world is sick and tired of their destructive, greedy and corrupt ways.
