You got your medical and your education from Krupp, who made the steel that made the cannons and armor that made WW I and WW II so much fun! They actually did a really good job, compared to the rest of German society. And how could they do so? Lucrative government contracts. Of course, you had to sign a loyalty oath to Krupp, if I recall correctly, but hey! Free Medical! Free Education! What could go wrong? And here we are 150 years after Bismarck, ASKING government to run education and health care. What could go wrong?
