Russia's sound (self-sufficient) resource and industrial base, its close ties with China and India, its lead in ECM, and most of all, the economically fragile West, already in debt up to its eyeballs, has already borrowed all the money a well-run nation only borrows during war and major conflict. Russia operates more like the USA used to. They still openly control the media; whereas, USA propaganda operates(operated) in secret, and wasn't widely understood to be propaganda by the US public. Since before WW II. (Some say the fix was already in by the Spanish-American War, and they're not wrong.)

It's like Democrats in the USA, lashing out with allegations and prosecutions whenever they've been exposed for committing the crimes of which they accuse others. NATO is the thief who's certain everyone else must also be a thief, because that's how they think. There is no benefit of the doubt with these criminals for anyone else.

  9. I think Russia's still operating in the black, as a government, and in trade. If Putin can simultaneously keep a lid on inflation at home AND experience devalued ruble abroad, there's no stopping him. For the first 150 of the USA, we borrowed in war, and re-paid in peace. The finance-based US economy is about to drown in worthless paper, with its once-enormous, resource-and-manufacturing base in tatters. Its fundamental world view is rooted in fallacy and delusion, a world view based on 50-year-old assumptions that no longer apply. It would be easy to right the ship and change course to a sustainable future, but to the politicians, "sustainability" is a battery-powered pipe dream, whose reality would cause far more bad than good, just like the nanny state, just like the COVID response. They're deluded. Some of them must also be quite mad. Certainly many of them are senile.
