@Rocketed12 And both parties are part of it. The politicians have their own incentives and goals and they have little to do with handing a better future to our children.

@cathere9631 Yes. They couldn't make more disastrous policy decisions if their PURPOSE were to create crippling disaster. We're under water in debt, and they act like money is a limitless resource. This was always the danger from our framework of government. They fought it off for a while, but eventually the people would figure out they could vote themselves a living, and the politicians are always happy to oblige. It's not their money. We give them money for some basic functions and they spend it on everything BUT those basic functions.
