  1. Big Tech used the drug-dealer's business model, starting out free and thinking that their sheer size would give them an unbeatable advantage in the social-media marketplace. But to keep their doors open, so to speak, they dabbled in different corporate-sponsor models, from selling data to selling advertising. The ironies abound. They should have kept their independence by charging a small fee to users, but they couldn't get all the users if they charged ANYthing. It's kind of a Catch-22 for Big Tech in the long run. They can't GET the user numbers if they charge people for it, but people are so disgusted with their pandering to the corporate and Karen class that they can't get people to PAY them anything after all the BS they've pulled.
