  2. It's been a cop tradition to "tune up" runners since cops were invented, along with other traditions like beating a confession out of suspects. Resisting arrest has also always been a cause for a serious beating. Everybody knows this. It had never been captured on video, before Rodney King. Public antipathy for police hadn't been as great since Prohibition days. What people don't realize is we're in a NEW age of Prohibition with the war on drugs, and it's associated with organized crime and corrupt authorities, just like in the '20s and '30s.

  3. It's a good movie that I watched before I realized what a turd Robert DeNiro is. Lots of good movies I can't bear watching, any more, like Godfather II, because of that asshole.

  5.  @AWSum-uf4ri  Not necessarily. With all the adrenalin pumping and the initial shock, the most painful bit is probably from the hot bullets striking your flesh (It burns!). Any bones broken might not hurt much in the first 5 minutes or so. You know something's terribly wrong, but it might not actually hurt that much. I had my foot up next to my knee, once, and set it, myself, just on the idea of "That's not where my foot should be." After 5 or 10 minutes, it started hurting like hell, but the initial snap-crackle-pop was more of a shock than a pain.
