The Dada-ist movement in art also coincided with a glut in starving artists, and some saw it as a way to jump on a new movement and achieve recognition and wealth, when actual representational art of high quality, to any specification, was readily and cheaply available and replicable. They had to separate an exclusive art community from what had become not only bourgeois, but downright working class.
