  1. Whether you believe Israel is legitimate or not, you have to ask why we are spending hundreds of billions on more war in the Middle East. Israel was created by force of arms 80 years ago. It's been there long enough to have some legitimacy of its own, but it will always be surrounded by hostile nations, and it cannot sustain itself as a Jewish homeland without practicing apartheid. If it ends apartheid, it will lose its identity. That sucks. But is it our fight? Did it declare itself the 51st state and have it ratified? The USA overstepped its bounds after WW II and it's been trapped in a sunk-cost fallacy ever since.
