@ihategooglealot3741 Channel 4 were his pals, and he was still working for them and hoping for future jobs with them. He's going out of his way to be kind and open-minded, giving every benefit of the doubt. One thing about dealing with ideologues, especially on the left, is that they project their dishonesty on YOU and YOU project your integrity on THEM. That was basically how the Bolsheviks took over the Duma in Russia. It takes TWO to deal in good faith, and there's a huge segment of the population that's been giving the benefit of the doubt without receiving ANY benefit of the doubt, and they're becoming more and more combative.

@colly7963 Basically what I just tried to say (a week after you said it). I think that's why Trump was so triggering to the left so-called liberals, because he treated THEM the way they treat everybody else! He'd been rubbing elbows with those high-and-mighty nothings for decades, and he understands them, through and through, and isn't at ALL worried about offending them. They offend everybody else at every opportunity, without any self-awareness, and Trump held up a big, giant mirror in front of them.

They're trying to shoe-horn as many as possible through their education system, whether there's any real aptitude or not. "Success" means "I passed," rather than that I have demonstrated real competence. So they aim at the lowest common denominator and teach by rote. Another FACT of our education system in the USA is that it is populated by people who couldn't cut it in the real world. If you're washing out of your math program at school, your best bet for a good-paying, secure job is to teach children! So our least capable minds are shaping the minds of our children. I got degrees in both math and geology and saw this happen in both disciplines. The guy who couldn't get better than a 'C' in Petrology ends up teaching Earth Science in high school. The guy who couldn't cut it in advanced calculus is the "math guru" at the local high school. I teach college, and in the American education system that means I'm expected to remediate all the lack of learning that took place in k-12. The k-12 teachers are heroes, but I'm a bastard, because Johnny can't pass my calculus course, because he can't do fractions. I'm expected to teach him grade-school concepts or I'M the failure. And everybody would LOVE me if everybody passed. Our k-12 schools are failing miserably, and it's percolating up through our colleges and universities. That's entirely aside from the political take-over of colleges and universities by intellectually stunted humanities departments.

So-called "liberal" critics of Jordan Peterson are invariably less well-informed than he is. Watching him in his conversations with Sam Harris, it was like a grown-up instructing a reluctant child. Harris is full of assumptions and presumptions of which he isn't even aware. This is true of so many, nowadays. I suppose this has always been the case, but the arrogance of the ignorance...

Cathy Neuman was relating to Jordan Peterson EXACTLY the way liberals relate to anyone they disagree with. They have their talking points and they trot them out. What was DIFFERENT about the Jordan Peterson interview was that Peterson had an answer for every single one of her weak talking points. MOST people know in their heart/gut that the liberals are pushing nonsense, but the liberals are expert at dragging them down to their level and beating them with experience. I guess there WAS a difference, because USUALLY when a liberal is not getting the acquiescent surrender they seek, they resort to temper tantrums and rage.
