  2. I know some very smart people who reduce society to something mechanical, ignoring the actions and motivations of all the people who make society work. They think that the best world possible is obtained by people giving up their agency to vested authorities, capable of making all the big decisions, backed by the government monopoly on use of force. Very good programmers. Probably be good at logistics in war time. Terrible when it comes to political economy, because none of them can imagine ideas of Adam Smith.
