I doubt it. The Iranians can be a bother, but not too big a bother, or the whole world will take matters into their hands, whether the USA does or not. And those straits are Iran's lifeline. I don't think they're in any hurry to shut down shipping. Not if each incident draws a measured response from our allies and us that though proportionate in response, hurts Iran far more than Iran is hurting us or our allies. Tensions will likely remain high until the 2020 elections or until it becomes clear that Trump's going to win in 2020, and the Iranians will be forced to admit that Trump isn't just an interlude between nincompoop neocons, who are too weak in the first place, and too violent in the second place, as a result.

@lukehubbard5644 : Actually, the media LOVE when we do stuff like this. It's great for ratings! And good for their pals at Lockheed-Martin and Boeing. Every missile fired is a new order for the manufacturer. The only thing they ever liked that he did was the missile strike in Syria.

@vincewallett : The glee she took in that statement was pretty terrifying. I'm so glad she didn't win in 2016. I only feel bad because we still haven't elected a woman. But I don't want a woman just to have a woman.
