Yes, we pay a price for tariffs, no doubt. But if you only think about consumers, you lose sight of the fact that our industries can be targeted, one by one, by one after another foreign country that wants to corner the market on one thing, and we end up buying cheap EVERYthing, only nobody has a job to buy it with. There are also strategic considerations, when it comes to key industries such as steel, aluminum, industrial chemicals, etc. (You can tell almost exactly what a country's fundamental strength is by tracking nothing more than sulfuric acid production. Tells it all.)

@ABC-xp8he : But you're never going to have that as long as OTHER, more authoritarian countries choose to subsidize key industries for trade purposes. The fact is it isn't and never has been a free market, internationally. If we don't punish other countries for artificially low prices that gut OUR industries, we'll swirl down the drain of history. This is a well-known FACT that Dr. Paul conveniently overlooks.

@vincesmith2499 Yes, he spent a ton of money to deal with the COVID lock-downs, to tide people over. In extraordinary circumstances, that's what government does. The extraordinary circumstance wasn't COVID-19, but the response that all the so-called "experts" insisted must be made.
