I can say that again: “The problem with socialism is you eventually run out of other people’s money”. Margaret Thatcher

Un-fucking-believable. An exit tax? Really? Democrats pursue tax dollars like a hophead pursues a fix!

That's right. Liberals only care about others when they're spending somebody else's money. Conservatives put their money where their mouth is and give freely. Democrat party gets most of ITS money from millionaire donors and $1,000-a-plate dinners. Republicans get THEIR money from $25 contributions from millions of working people. It's always been that way, as far back as I can remember (the 1970s). And it's the exact opposite of what you hear from Democrats and Democrat-and-corporate-run media. That's the difference between most libs and most conservatives. Libs will guilt or even compel by force in the name of "helping people." Conservatives care about actual people and help them out of their own pockets.

Jacob Strom: Your diatribe is from spoon-fed mainstream media. Fact is that Democrat party is an unholy alliance of elites who cement their pre-eminent position by buying the votes of those who are dependent on handouts. The BRILLIANT part of the plan is convincing the average person that they, too, need handouts. That's the genius behind ObamaCare. If we ALL depend on the government for everything, then we must vote for more government (and less liberty). You're very good with the dialectic. Now explain why your wonderful blue states are all going broke.

Full-Metal_Jacob: Exactly. If they can't handle the tax and regulatory burden in Cali, then they should leave. And so they leave. And your golden goose just got a little bit smaller. At some point, you have to throw the actual producers of goods and services a bone, or there will be nobody offering goods and services. It's beautiful, really. You can blame them for being incompetent and leaving your state, until your whole state is in ruins. Heck, even AFTER that, you can blame businesses for being retarded. You can cuddle with the hate all night long, in your cardboard box in the pothole-filled street.
5
If you were a smarter businessman, you could overcome all that. Jerry Brown said so. But seriously, being a smart businessman means Get Yo' Ass Outta Cali!
5
Jacob's strategy is to call you stupid and move on.

Yup. People trying to do things RIGHT and raise their OWN kids have every barrier and tax burden thrown at them. What you need to do is find an ignorant beatch to spread her legs and the state will gladly raise those kids. Of course, the kids will turn out to be crooks or drug addicts, without a father in the home, but nowadays, having a father in the home is just too expensive!
4
Yes. And welcome. It's ignorance and WILLful ignorance. They live in a state of denial of reality, because they think they're being "enlightened," when they're the exact opposite.
4
Spoken like a person in subsidized housing or a rent-controlled apartment. It doesn't work that way for people who take nothing from the state. We PAY for all your bullshit.

Colorado had a similar disregard for basic economics. They had X number of out of state hunters buying elk-hunting tags. So they divided their budget shortfall by X and made that quotient the new price for an out-of-state elk-hunting tag. What happened? Out-of-state elk tag purchases dropped by over 50%, and they ended up collecting LESS revenue from out-of-staters than they did before somebody got the bright idea. Democrats care nothing for the size of the pie. They just look for ways to take a bigger piece. Always.

Your diploma ain't worth the paper it's printed on. You see a goose that lays golden eggs, so you insist on cutting it open, because you want the eggs faster than the goose lays them. Working people are sick of your shit. Fix your own damn plumbing, roof and electrical system with your gender studies degree.

I think it's WONDERFUL that the working poor finally see through the Ponzi scheme. True compassion is person-to-person. Fake compassion is taxpayer funded. Nothing more than virtue-signaling for votes.

Jacob Strom: Please review some history - and not the watered-down, progressive re-write that they spoon fed you in public school. Democrats (and establishment Republicans) represent a return to rule of the aristocracy. Government started out as a protection racket and nothing has changed.
4
Jacob Strom: You filter everything through your left-wing ideology. What's your point? Democrats talk about the environment, and then come up with huge spending programs that can only be supported by deficit spending or unchecked growth and unchecked environmental degradation. I'm CERTAIN that California would miss the U.S. more than the U.S. would miss California.
4
Yup. That's why Trumpster got elected. Can't tell you how many able-bodied people game the system, while honest, hard-working cripples like me pay taxes to support them.

Pointing out ONE error in overspending (and foreign interventionism) does not forgive similar out-of-control government on the domestic side. To me, the military-industrial complex AND nanny government are two sides of the same coin. YOU sound like somebody taking out more than they're putting in, to be honest. That money spent on the military cutting into your welfare check?

I'm a throwback. I don't mind helping others, but I'm too proud to take any help. I wish there more throwbacks and less people lookin' for sum'm fer nothin'.
3
Yup. Shit's upside-down with Democrats (and Republicans) buying voted with your and my tax dollars. A system set up this way must surely fall of its own weight. It's sad what we've done to our country.
2
That's what's so weird. People flee California because of ridiculous policies, there, and they vote the exact same way in their new states, turning Texas blue! They're like plague-infected rats abandoning ship in the harbor, spreading the poison everywhere.
2
You mean Texas? And define educated. Does that mean a college degree that's not worth wiping your ass with? An education that doesn't include the Federalist Papers, but DOES include the fact that Thomas Jefferson owned slaves?

Only a cruel and evil person would destroy utopia by cutting gov't spending.
2
Yes. And the only way to extirpate all redheads is to pass a federal law. Can't leave any alive in Idaho or Montana.
1
The genius of the whole scheme is they brainwash people into thinking they're the good guys, when the historical record of tax-and-spend is collapse.

Nowadays, formal education = helplessness and indebtedness.

Rich white Democrats would prefer a plantation or simply a feudal fiefdom. Either way, we common folk are seen as serfs/slaves. The beauty of the setup is that rich people have an unholy alliance with the serfs that keeps the serfs under the heel of the rich. And ALL of us who are honestly scratching and clawing for a better life get cut off at the knees. And we're sick of it.

You need to get out of your city for 5 minutes and turn off MSNBC.

If they actually FIXED problems, we'd only need them for one term of office. But these clowns are career politicians. If they fixed anything, they'd have to go find real jobs, rather than their current virtue-signal-for-votes gig.
