  1. Maybe contagion will do for education what poor performance and spiraling costs did not: Make people re-think 19th-Century approach to schooling. Half my calculus students, today, are accelerated high-school-age students who learned at their own pace in charter schools and home schools. They know their stuff way better than students who went to the traditional public schools.
