  1. Under capitalism, the sharing is voluntary (philosophical) and there's more to share (functional). I would argue that the sharing is more than anything the government can muster, but it's harder to quantify, because so many charitable "transactions" go un-reported. Just a culture of people who take care of each other, better, rather than resenting high taxes and perceiving others as "parasites."

  2. That said, I think a company should promote worker ownership. Give every worker a small and growing stake in the fortunes of the company. Might not show up on their paycheck, which is and must be tied to the value of their work, but ask a Microsoft employee, who worked there in the '90s about their retirement plan.
