  1. I've been preparing for the inevitable crash for years. I don't see how defaulting would hurt me any more than the never-ending deficit spending. Maybe the federal government NEEDS to default. The spending and assaults on liberty and prosperity haven't stopped, regardless of which party controls the government. Default would change everything. I don't want it, but maybe it's the only way to FORCE our spendthrift, vote-buying politicians to FINALLY get their fiscal house in order.

  2. The top 10% already pay half of all taxes. Lower middle and low-income people don't pay taxes, directly. Of course, every penny of corporate taxes comes out of the pockets of ordinary people. Cut spending. Get the feds out of 90% of what they're into.

  3. I bet your neighbors are being subsidized in one way or another by federal tax dollars. Even arch-conservatives use medicaid/medicare. Until the feds get out of EVERYthing, there will always be people voting Democrat to get something for free. Usually it's health care, which is too expensive for the average person, largely due to - again - federal interventions in health care.
