  1.  @alecfoster4413  : Yes. And the FBI made its name enforcing laws that were later declared unconstitutional (Prohibition). But the FBI just keeps on keepin' on. Al Capone gave them an excuse to arm the agency, and they never looked back.

  2. I don't buy the "99% of rank-and-file FBI are good guys" line. If 99% of rank and file were such good guys, Comey would be in jail.
