Cronkite gave you a slanted view, but in those days, there were no other sources on tv who would ever question his narratives. They were much better at hiding the propaganda when there were only 3 major tv networks to control. You felt like you were getting the full picture because there were literally no dissenting voices with national reach. In the '60s and '70s, they were much more subtle. They would give both sides of the stories they chose to cover, giving you a false impression of objectivity. But there were thousands of stories that didn't fit establishment narratives that were censored before they ever saw the light of day. In Cronkite's day, all the censorship and bias was behind closed doors, in the editors' and producers' offices, so you never even knew what you were missing. That's why they're pushing so hard to control Big Tech platforms, hoping to take the next step in information control. They did it when Cable came along and created competing channels. It took them awhile. Remember? Rush Limbaugh actually had a t.v. show! You can't see anything like Rush on cable, today.

I never trusted the husband of Hanoi Jane to give me the straight facts.
