  3.  @Barry4B  They're not even up with Bobby. He was a one-man wrecking crew. The amount of published theory, today, has made the game more one of research (and teamwork behind the scenes) than great over-the-board play and original thought. Karpov and Kasparov had big teams of "seconds," and all of it was state-supported for Soviet glory.
