  1. He sucks in pursuit, because he's trying not to kill anybody. The criminal has no inhibitions. I'm being sarcastic about the officer. He pushed it, but he didn't do anything stupid.

  2.  @appletherapy  "Geek" means you're really into something, as in "geeking out" on something. It generally means specialized knowledge about something, not just computers. Just whatever your hobby, from mountain climbing to music.
