  1. Montana led KC to the AFCCG. But it wasn't pretty. He took more hard hits trying to will their offense down the field in one or two seasons than he probably took in any 5 or 6 seasons in San Francisco. He went to a team with worse pass protection and receiving talent. I wish KC had just kept Steve Deberg, and drafted an OT and a WR. Joe was still Joe, but that team wasn't built to take care of Joe. It was great to see the Chiefs stomp the '9ers with Joe, but SF went on to earn rings and KC didn't earn another until last month.
