  1. A good student has read the book and is meeting this professor, half way. Plus these students have listened to this same guy building up the theory. But yeah, if you're an indifferent student, this guy's lectures would be bewildering. I was in that situation in Calc III, back in the early '80s, before I grew a brain and took ownership of the knowledge.

  2. I never prepped a board like that. I'd start with an empty board and fill 4 or 5 boards in the time he took to discuss 1.5 boards.
