  1. You know why they did this? Because they COULD. They could bring the full weight of the U.S. Government and its media minions to bear. This is why we mustn't have institutions with that kind of power. It's always just a matter of time until the wrong people make their way to the top, or some outsider finds a way to influence the handful of people at the top. Progressives always act indignant when they find that top officials aren't saints. That's literally the only way for these institutions to function without creeping corruption taking over. And we know that NONE of these people are saints. The temptation is just too great. Centralized, top-down solutions are for tyrannies and hive minds, not free republics.
