  1. You can find fishy stuff whenever you see U.S. Aid or USAID. If you follow the money closely enough, you can usually find a big chunk of it making its way back into U.S. politicians' pockets, one way or another.

  2. USAID and foreign aid, in general. are real corrupters, and they help prop up bad leaders who will do U.S. bidding on key issues. This is never good for the people in the countries we "help" and in the long run, is bad for the U.S. You don't make something good by acting bad. Karma comes back and bites you, every time.

  3. Progressives are good at turning up these nuggets. They're pretty deluded about socialism, which is ironic, since progressives usually know chapter and verse when it comes to abuse of power. But they keep giving the same clowns more power to "help" us. Helping us at home works out about as well as helping others, abroad. It never works the way they say it will.

  4. Not a big fan of the feckless socialists running Venezuela, and more than a little skeptical of their election integrity. I'm not sure what the right policy is, exactly, because Venezuela's failures do have a negative effect on its neighbors. But we need to clean up our act, no doubt. The neoliberals in the White House, now, aren't much different, although even they know Bolton's crazy.
