  1. "Michelle Walensky's a doctor. I'm sure she's not doing that." (Dismissing natural immunity.) I'm not at all all sure she's not doing that. There ARE many parents "eagerly awaiting" the vaccine for their children. Most of them are desperate to get back to some kind of normal, because they are at wit's end trying to deal with their children without a guaranteed 6 or 7 hours per day of free baby-sitting.

  2.  @kkartha  The elected portion of government is but a small fraction of the government. U.S. gov't is essentially run by career bureaucrats. They can - and HAVE - torpedoed politicians who depart in any way from the bureaucracy's comfortable (for the bureaucracy) narratives. From health care and public education to matters of war and peace. All run by "experts" answerable to no one.
