@animejanai4657 Any organization that helps the needy needs to have clear rules and expectations of the clients as well as the volunteers. The self-entitlement is very common. That's why they need help.

Cities know how to handle homelessness and transients. They just refuse to do so. "You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. If you stay here, we'll find you a cot and a hot, but you probably won't like it.

@animejanai4657 Anyway, good on you for volunteering. Burn-out is definitely an issue. That's why I think Peace Corps and stuff like that for young people is good. They learn a lot, do a lot of good, and move on, rather than making a career of it.
