That's one of the telltales of the rot: 10-syllable and hyphenated words and phrases replacing 2-syllable words that worked just fine. The inefficiency and phony niceties in language gives it away.

Corporate takeover of government starts with government intervention in commerce.

@richardberry8830 That was one thing the folks got right when we were kids. TV off at dinner.

Let me get this straight. One-Child policy led to a massive reduction in female children being born or exported, but there are way more women in the one-child demographic, now? That doesn't make sense. Of course, Peter Zeihan is always a mix of truth and deception.

The incompetence of it all will drag down the people and institutions embracing the nonsense.

50 years ago, the media were more subtle in their slanting and cherry-picking of the news, and there was no outside media or independent media with enough eyes on it to seriously threaten the echo chamber. That's changed, and the legacy media didn't. They have their role to play and they play the game the way it's always been played, only with even more arrogance and easily exposed gaslighting, since Obama. But since the likes of Joe Rogan hit the scene, manufacture of unchallengeable narratives got a lot harder. I hope that COVID was "peak stupid." They definitely overplayed their hand - and made it stick for several years - but it's all coming un-stuck. Facts have caught up with them, and they're on the wrong side of the facts, and for the first time since FDR, the American people - or at least a clear majority of us - see what's been going on.

@CyberEditing Americans don't watch less. They just don't watch the legacy channels as much.

"We've made great advances in treating mental illness." "How did you do it?" "We sterilize the mentally ill." "$eems legit."

Truth will revive itself, as its absence leads to failure.

The Internet brings a new virality of ideas. The written word, movable type, radio, television, cable television, and recently, the Internet. Always a scramble by the powerful and would-be powerful to harness for its benefit and constrict its being used to threaten their power. Cable put strains on the control systems, but was eventually conquered/captured. The current battleground is the Internet. Legacy controls have slipped. Legacy controllers have been enormously successful. We still use YouTube, even though we know it serves the establishment and pushes its lies very efficiently and effectively.

Intersectionality is a creepy caste system.

People have been grinding axes since the invention of the printing press. USA just forgot that in the 20th Century. Obama did us all a favor by doing away with the Fairness Doctrine in news. The news has always been slanted. The pamphleteers during the American Revolution were extremely biased. The 1st Amendment says NOTHING about objective reporting or journalistic ethics. It just says you can't shut anybody up, no matter how much you disagree with them. Instead, you're free to propagandize against them. That's the best we'll ever have, and the most we should even hope for. People who are lying or misrepresenting need to be called out. The guy who does the calling-out, this week, might be the guy who's lying next week. It all depends on who they are and what they want to protect (or attack). American elites have had "soft control" of the public square for decades. It's marvelous to see that monolith starting to crumble. Let's just hope the public's developing herd immunity. But the Iraq War(s), BLM hysteria, COVID-19 hysteria suggest we are not. Still, more and more people seem to be waking up. I'm just not sure it's enough.

If you want to develop space and do advanced physics, make it PAY. Wasting time on the moon and Mars and other places of limited immediate value at the bottom of big gravity wells is dumb, when there's top-grade ore we can just sidle up to in the meteoroid belt. Make it pay and there'll be millions of people in the environment of space, who will think up and be able to execute experiments Weinstein can't even imagine. Trick is to get those bodies up there in good health in the gravity-free, airless, bathed in 24-hour solar power environment. The mineral and energy resources made available would change everything we think we know about chemistry and materials science. And everything else.

Even if they're right about looming catastrophe, the government response is counter-productive.

The sexual revolution created a widespread shortage of good husbands and good wives. Married couples raising children the best way they know how is best happiness for the vast majority, and the only source of a next generation that's a little better off than Mom & Dad.

I hope he's right, but the kids under 30 are pretty universally indoctrinated by the public-education head of the 3-headed government-media-education monster that permeates society and culture. On the BRIGHT side (sadly), the public schools are so BAD at what they do that many kids go through a black-pill thence to red-pill state, as soon as they're out of school, if not beforel.

You have too high an opinion of yourself! ;o)

Part of it's the negativity on campus. Part of it is the inefficiency of old teaching methods. Boys with talent don't need the class, and see how slow and shallow the content is (so everyone can "succeed."). Part of it is that education in the current technology setting doesn't need to be all institutionalized like it is. You can get what you need for dirt cheap, a la carte. Part of it is that education has been feminized, socialized, and collaborated to death. More fluff. More group work. More social interaction. Less depth of content. Less understanding. More emphasis on "team" than on individual competence. None of this is appealing to young men. A young man would be much better off learning a trade. Take JUST enough school to get the next job he wants.

Alpha males aren't surfing dating apps to find women. There's no shortage of the real thing in real life. So I'm not surprised that the bias is toward woke on those apps. I just wonder how desperate a guy has to be to play that kind of game, knowing how stupid or at least delusional the woman is that he's pursuing. Life's too short to go out of your way to get that close to crazy on purpose.
