  1. I suppose we do need better politicians, but the main thing we need is to reduce the power and scope of the federal government. You're never going to populate the Congress and White House or /Supreme Court with saints at every spot. That's why you must limit the harm they can do. The only way to do THAT is to deprive them of the near-godlike powers they exercise. We'd be better off with half the number of Departments. Departments of Education, Agriculture and HHS are bad. FDA, NIH, CDC are toxic. You go right down the list, and all the agencies that supposedly regulate x, y and z are in bed with x, y and z corporations. Big corporations actually provide much of the funding for FDA and NIH. No wonder their "science" always benefits the big companies' bottom line. What happened with COVID was atrocious.

  2. No, Joe. It's ALWAYS existed. The Internet just made it harder to enforce The Message, due to leakage of viewers/readers to other sources and platforms than just 3 or 4 tv/radio networks and a few big papers and magazines. To combat this requires more blatant coercion, and we're seeing it. The control of media has always been "soft" and under the radar, but definitely was there, since at least World War II, and always under the excuse of "greater good" and "national security." If Joe were more up on things, he would know more of the stories that got buried or mis-reported over the DECADES. He'd know all the molehills magnified to mountains and all the mountains reduced to molehills by selective reporting or slants that most people don't even know are slants.
