  2.  @shastacastor  It ruined many more white families. There just happened to be a higher percentage of poor blacks at the time Great Society was enacted. Before Great Society, blacks were gaining on whites in every field of activity, except maybe ice hockey. Black people were rising above it all, in SPITE of Jim Crow. The only way to stop them, as a group, was to guarantee unwed mothers a free house, free food, free medical care, and cash.
