  1. The original 'liberals' were pretty anti-establishment, and skeptical about the government "helping," because they knew it always came at a cost. Modern-day liberals WANT the government to help them with EVERYthing, and anybody who says different just doesn't have any compassion or "emotional intelligence." Now they're seeing what happens when you give strangers the POWER to do what they asked for, and they're slowly waking up. Very slowly. Most still believe the power should be given, and it's just a matter of having "the right leaders" to run things from the top down. They beg to be cared for as children, and then are the first to complain when the government starts acting like an evil stepmother. Dear liberals: The "evil stepmother" phenomenon will ALWAYS be associated with nanny government. You can't keep all the psychopaths and sociopaths out of office, so you never give officials too much power. Find another way. Help your neighbors and be content.
