They all knew the gravy train would derail, and their longterm future was trash. The smart ones cashed in and folded their tents.

@TheJiggs666 It's OK for government employees to have cars. Just not the teeming masses they rule.

Lots of new vehicles getting repo'ed for failure to pay.

How about a car with a reliable, efficient engine, a radio, heater and air-conditioner and zero extras?

I have a Wells Fargo account, but their terms were never competitive with what I could get elsewhere, buying a vehicle or buying a house. They must not attract the best borrowers or something.

The plan is for nobody but the filthy rich to even have cars by 2030.

@asajayunknown6290 Spend now, for tomorrow the dollar dies. As long as they can service their debt and their income goes up with inflation, they're actually paying quite a bit less, assuming inflation's gonna be a thing.

@nomaam-br549 You've gotta really want something bad that you can't afford, to write that kind of note for a vehicle, unless you're going to live in it.

@JasbirSingh-zj1fg Rich people don't buy cars. They lease them.

@grovermayersjr8025 I've always owned trucks. Every one after my first one - a 1974 Datsun 2WD - has been a 4WD. Most of them were gutless little rice burners. I've still got an old '93 V6 Toyota that's having its engine rebuilt at about 250,000 miles. I'm pretty sure I could've coaxed more miles out of it, but I lent it out, and the other guy didn't baby it like I did. Burned an exhaust valve and it's old enough, if I'm yanking the head to do a valve job, I'm rebuilding the whole thing. When it gets back on the road, it'll be my day-to-day rig and my 2012 Tacoma will be for serious road trips and towing. In '92-'93, I was either driving an '82 Nissan xtra cab 4x4 or an '84 Toyota xtra cab 4x4. Pretty boring vehicle history.

Not for long.

Give me a basic truck, with no electronic anything. They pretty much had these vehicles figured out by the '70s. It's been downhill since the '80s.

You could buy a small house with a yard in the '80s for less than they want for cars.
