  1. At least in the U.S., we still have a bruised and tattered 1st Amendment guaranteeing free speech, to resist the hate-speech end-run around our constitution. So grateful for the Anglo-Saxon tradition and Magna Carta example, before us, from which we derived much of our constitution. But we went further, and it appears to be saving our asses! Well, that and our general barbarity!

  2. I don't think keeping your head down is the solution. I think open defiance by the many is the key. Easy to say. But if y'all don't r'ar up on your hind legs, you'll all end up on your knees.

  3. I thought U.S. and U.K. were more alike. But the urge to conform is much stronger in U.K.
