Especially the everlasting life part! Maybe Jesus was just trying to teach us a better way of treating one another. Maybe God is just our reaching for our better selves, and if someone finds a path to treating people around them better because of something attributed to the Buddha, then maybe that's God working through Budddha. According to canon, God has used less likely humans to teach us.
