The idea that you have to take massive cross-sex hormones and have grotesque surgery done to yourself to be TRUE to yourself is nonsensical. Being true to yourself is being yourself, starting with the body that only YOU can not seem to accept. You're not being true to yourself. You're being true to an idea in your head by people eager to exploit your feelings of awkwardness that MOST people feel as they're growing up. Girls entering puberty are BOUND to feel awkward. There's a phase in human development between girl and woman, where the girl has become all knees and elbows, and the WOMAN that's emerging isn't fully realized. A kid can look at themselves in a mirror and be disgusted. And along comes some queer(-adjacent) person telling them "That's because you were meant to be a man, and all you have to do is take a few pills and maybe get some surgery, and all those bad feelings/awkwardness will evaporate."
