  1. What I found was that I didn't respect a woman who'd participate in a casual hookup. No matter what culture says, a woman who gives it up without a long-term commitment simply isn't marriage-and-kids material. The reason I gave it up was concern about VD and the big AIDS scare in the '80s. It wasn't any big moral decision I made or anything. I just didn't like the odds. "If she'll go home with me after one night at the club, she's gone home with others, and probably many others."
