  1. Two facts: Not everybody's cut out for a desk job in finance. Not everybody NEEDS a degree to have a rewarding life. A 3rd fact: More and more college grads have no real marketable skills, and will have to UN-learn much of what their professors taught them. Any degree ending in "... Studies" is probably not productive of employment, and what employment there is, exists only in the Grievance Industry as Diversity and Equity officers, who perform the functions of a Soviet Commissar.

  2. Agree. And that might entail tariffs, to protect your strategic industries and resources. All the whining about tariffs as if these guys are Milton Friedman, or something, when they actually put much BIGGER brakes on the economy with the income tax... The USA was originally only permitted to raise revenue by tariffs and excise taxes. Breaking the Constitution to implement the Income Tax is what propelled an explosion of government. Then we learned that we can beat fascists by initiating fascist policies, and we liked it so much, we just left those policies in place after World War II. We're still basically on a war footing, to this day.
