@NoWindNoSunNoPower What you describe is exactly how the COVID response was handled. Nothing but cherry-picked data and then blind guesswork presented as "consensus science." Without ALL the data and ALL the information on who's paying for the study, it's not even close to science.

@anthtan They do speak up, and they are shouted down by government-backed "experts," or their papers aren't published, and they just never get any exposure in the government-curated "mainstream media." They're out there, and there are plenty of them. But they get no funding. What funding they do have gets mysteriously cut off. It just takes a few people high in the bureaucracy to quash anything that goes against THEIR preferred narrative. They don't even have to conspire. Just follow the obvious lead and what the most powerful people want.

In another 100 years they'll look back and remark on how our burning of fossil fuels averted a carbon-scarcity problem that was threatening all plant life with extinction.
