Abject failure to govern might be the only way to reveal this. Without Trump as the 24/7 target, there's nothing to see except Democrat incompetence, dishonesty and corruption. It sucks for the short term, but it's much easier to be critical than it is to govern, and Democrats are not equipped to govern.

That's not true. There were hundreds in attendance. They were the ones honking their horns and waving American flags to troll his public appearances. There were more protesters at his rallies than supporters.

@alfresco1950 Sounds like you're off your meds. I thought they were a condition of your probation.

The world needs to take away 90% of the powers our so-called leaders have stolen from the people. If the government isn't sticking its nose into everything, the president doesn't need to be the focal point of every news broadcast, every day. We allow them to become too important.

@keithfoster7445 Seems like Boris was elected under false pretenses. But I think most politicians, including Trump, are hostage to the medical industrial complex, giving bureaucrats powers we don't even give to presidents. There are the bureaucrat doctors and there are actual doctors doing clinical work. And the way the health care systems are constructed, the doctors doing the healing must obey the bureaucrats, even when - especially when - the bureaucrats get it wrong, over and over again.

Political theater with very bad acting.

Actually, we need to get past the idea that politicians "run the country." They don't. WE do. The government's supposed to protect our borders and defend the U.S. Constitution. The REST is up to US! There's this fallacy that people aren't competent to run their own lives, but are somehow competent to elect politicians to run their lives for them. If you don't have the one, you can't have the other. So the bottom line is that you shouldn't give politicians that much power. At least when people mess up their own lives, it doesn't cost everyone else. But with politicians in charge, one mistake, one unintended consequence, and everybody suffers, the competent and incompetent, alike.
