COVID and global warming "science" are dictated by politicians and self-interested big business. All-cause deaths skyrocketed, all for a virus that was only fatal for a tiny percentage of the population. Fauci spearheaded the response to AIDS, but since it was mostly spread by a protected class, closing down spreading centers, like gay bath houses was out of the question, even though at the time, HIV/AIDS was a death sentence. @Scepticalasfuk Republicans are less bad, but only slightly. We need a new direction. The Overton Window has shifted so far in the direction of big government and big spending, that career Republicans waste just as much money and go along with just as much authoritarianism as Democrats.

@Scepticalasfuk Corporations are just playing the game as conceived by career politicians in Congress. If you don't lobby, they stick it to you. If you DO lobby, and contribute to their campaigns, you can write the regulations governing your industry, and construct them in such a way as to eliminate smaller competitors or more honorable competitors. Washington, DC is definitely a swamp. Big companies LOVE private-public partnerships, until things go far enough to start hurting THEM, at which point it's too late.
